Rama Nama Japa & Lekhanam - 2026

Jai Shri Ram 🙏

Namaste to all,

Thank you for joining our Sankalpam of writing and/or chanting Rama Nama for the next 60 days.

What is the Sankalpa?

To write or chant Rama Nama (राम, Rama, ராம, రామ, ರಾಮ, രാമ) 108 times every day for the next 60 days. Let us stick to Rama and not Sri Ramajayam.

Should I commit to only writing or chanting, or can I do both?

Entirely your choice. You may:

* Only write

* Only chant

* Do both

* Mix and match as per your convenience

When should I write?

Anytime. Mornings are always the best. But whenever you write, it would be ideal if you can chant along and internalize Rama and His Nama.

Can I write during periods or other theetu?

My recommendation would be NO. You may catch up after the 5th day or once the theetu is over.

How do I count my Japa?

You can use a 108 Japa Mala. If you are in Chennai, I have a few spare malas. You may pick one up or arrange Porter/Dunzo from my place.

How do I write the Nama?

You may:

* Use a Rama Nama notebook (available in stores or online), or

* Write in a plain notebook, or

* Print and use the attached PDF (thanks to Gomathi ji 🙏)

How do I track?

Please maintain your own daily count of Japa/Writing. On March 25th, each one of us will share our total in the following format:

Vanisri Ragupati

Japa: 20 days × 108

Writing: 40 days × 108

Total = 6480

Can I do more than 108?

Yes, absolutely! You may do more. Just keep track and include it in your final total.

I already do this every day. Do I need a separate Sankalpa?

Not required. If you are able to do your regular practice plus this, that is wonderful. Otherwise, you may simply offer your existing daily practice to this collective Sankalpa.

Can I add a friend or family member?

Yes, as long as they can start tomorrow and adhere to our Sankalpa. I will reset the WhatsApp group link by EOD Sunday.

What if I miss a day due to unavoidable circumstances?

The preference is to stick to everyday chanting or writing. However, if you miss a day, please ensure you catch up the very next day.

Let us joyfully take this Sankalpa together and immerse ourselves in Rama Nama, with devotion, discipline, and gratitude. May Bhagavan Sri Rama & our dear Hanuman bless us all with strength, consistency, and bhakti.

Jai Shri Ram 🙏

Vanisri Ragupati
